At any given time, there are a handful of motivated college students in the D+P internship program. We recently sat down with Samantha, one of our Monday & Wednesday interns, for a quick Q&A session. Read on below to learn more about Sam!
Give us a little bit of background about yourself!
I’m currently a junior at Temple University majoring in public relations with a minor in digital media creation. I am currently involved with Temple’s PRSSA Chapter, as well as I am a founding sister of Tridelta. In my spare time I love to go eat at the world’s largest Wawa located here in the heart of Philadelphia, read, and try new foods with my friends.
Describe yourself in three words.
Hard-working, dependable, and outgoing
What did you want to be when you were growing up?
I wanted to be a lawyer when I was growing up because I loved arguing with my parents and sister. Once I learned how many years it would take to become a lawyer I quickly decided that it wasn’t for me.
What’s something few people knew about you, but you wish they did?
I love to cook and bake but I am not good at it at all. I tend to get more burns on my hands and arms form the process then I am actually able to cook.
If you could give a piece of advice to your high school/younger self, what would it be?
A piece of advice I’d give to my high school/younger self to pick what you worry about because you won’t even remember it happened a year from now. I used to be a worry wart about everything and it caused me a lot of stress in high school even until my freshman year of college. Looking back on it now, I can’t even remember what I was worried about in the first place because everything ended up working out how it was supposed to.
