Get to Know Jacquelyn, D+P Summer Intern

By D+P Interns

At any given time, there are a handful of motivated college students and recent graduates in the D+P internship program. We recently connected with Jacquelyn Kelly, a previous spring intern joining us again this summer, for a quick Q&A session. Read on below to learn more about Jacquelyn!

Give us a little bit of background about yourself!

I am a recent graduate of Temple University, where I studied public relations and digital media engagement. I spent my last semester interning with D+P and enjoyed my time so much that I decided to stay on for the summer! If I’m not interning or working at my part-time job, I usually spend time with my friends, family and recently-rescued kitten, Ivy!

Describe yourself in three words.

I would describe myself as dependable, attentive and open-minded.

What did you want to be when you were growing up?

Growing up, I really wanted to become a teacher. A lot of my cousins pursued a degree in education, so it must run in our family!

What’s something few people knew about you, but you wish they did?

Something that few people know about me is that I’m very introverted around new people or when I’m placed in new environments. While it may take a little bit to get comfortable, once I open up – there’s no turning back!

If you could give a piece of advice to your high school/younger self, what would it be?

If I could give my younger self a piece of advice, I would tell her that everything will happen the way it’s supposed to. It’s easy to think the world is ending when something doesn’t go your way, but the truth is, the events that feel like the end of the world usually end up teaching you the biggest lessons.
