Reach Cyber Charter

Philadelphia-area Reach Cyber Charter School kicked off the back-to-school season at the  Franklin Institute where they had a chance to meet their virtual classmates and teachers while exploring the exhibits and doing STEM activities. 6abc was on-site to capture the fun.

The Mann Center

Movies @ the Mann came to an end this season with the showing of The Godfather, which is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the film this year. Prior to the show, Cathy Cahill, CEO of the Mann, was featured on PHL 17 to preview the event. Watch the clip from her interview here.

In early October, ahead of the final Downstage @ the Mann series, The Philadelphia Inquirer included the “Resistance Revival Chorus” in their number one spot for must-see concerts for the weekend. You can check out the full list from Oct. 6 here.

The Salvation Army

On Sept. 28, a staff member of the Salvation Army’s Allentown Corps was honored for his 41 years of service. Read the story from WFMZ here.

The Salvation Army has been helping victims of the hurricane in Puerto Rico and those affected by Hurricane Ian. Watch the story by 6abc here.

You can follow the story of Lt. Marlon Rodriguez, from the Salvation Army Lebanon Corp, to Florida as he provides aid to local residents who have been devastated by Hurricane Ian. Read more from CBS 21 here.

A new series called “My Frontline Story” will highlight the recovery journeys of Gaudenzia staff and clients. These online stories will bring awareness to substance abuse. Read more about Guadenzia’s new series here.

Also, leaders of Gaudenzia’s addiction treatment in Crownsville note COVID’s impact on drug use as the facility marks its sixth anniversary. Read the story in the Capital Gazette here. 

The National Shrine of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton

A Mass was held at the National Shrine of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton to honor those in the sea services. Hundreds of people came together for the annual Pilgrimage to pray over these men and women. The Cell and Gene Therapy sector has grown immensely in the Greater Philadelphia region in just the past few years, making it a leading hub for the industry. Read why the region ranks #2 and ways it has become home to a growing pool of talent from Cell & Gene and the Philadelphia Business Journal. The Circuit Trails
