We connected with our latest cohort of D+P interns for a quick Q&A session. Read on below to learn more about Ava, our Summer Social Media Intern!
Give us a little bit of background on yourself!
Hi! My name is Ava Steneken and I just finished my sophomore year at Temple University. I am an advertising major with a minor in public relations. I have a passion for social media and the creative side of the industry, which really started last summer through a digital media marketing internship with my hometown’s Chamber of Commerce. I am also the vice president of marketing for Temple’s chapter of Active Minds and am involved in the Community Service Association on campus!
Describe yourself in three words.
I would describe myself as ambitious, organized and kind.
What did you want to be when you were growing up?
Growing up I really wanted to be a photographer! While professional photography is not my career, pursuing social media allows me to still hold onto that passion. Because even though I don’t do it everyday, photography still remains a small part of my broader career.
What’s something few people know about you, but you wish they did?
I love hiking! This is something I love to do back home in Connecticut, especially with my family. It’s a great way to get outside and explore new places. My favorite place I’ve ever gone hiking is definitely Iceland!
If you could give a piece of advice to your high school/younger self, what would it be?
One piece of advice I would give to my high school self is have more confidence in your abilities. You got this!
