We connected with our latest cohort of D+P interns for a quick Q&A session. Read on below to learn more about Elena, our summer PR intern!
Give us a little bit of background about yourself!
I’m a rising senior at Temple University. I have a major in public relations, minor in event and entertainment management and a certificate in children’s media. This fall, I’ll be going into my second year as president of Broadway on Broad. I’m also the incoming vice president for Temple’s PRSSA chapter after being the lead conference coordinator the past two years. I’m from Mechanicsburg, PA, but I also lived in Lincoln, NE for seven years!
Describe yourself in three words.
I would describe myself as loyal, passionate and creative.
What did you want to be when you were growing up?
I wanted to be so many different things when I was growing up. I wanted to be a professional dancer or actress, a high school history or English teacher, a Kindergarten teacher and an interior designer. I saw that Barbie has dozens of jobs, so I figured I could do the same.
What’s something few people knew about you, but you wish they did?
I love graphic design, whether I’m creating logos, social media graphics or print products. My senior year, I was editor in chief of my high school’s yearbook, and it is still one of my favorite projects I’ve worked on.
If you could give a piece of advice to your high school/younger self, what would it be?
Take a deep breath, girl. At the end of the day, it is not that serious, and the world will not fall apart. Let yourself have some fun in the moment instead of always worrying about the future.
