Give us a little bit of background about yourself!
Hi, my name is Elle McDonald! I grew up just outside of Boston in Newton, Massachusetts. I am currently a senior at Villanova University, studying communications, with a concentration in PR & advertising, along with minors in business & marketing. During my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends!
Describe yourself in three words.
Considerate, curious and tenacious.
What did you want to be when you were growing up?
Growing up, I was always curious and wanted to explore, seeing where different paths could take me. I’ve also always been interested in building genuine relationships with the people around me. These qualities are ultimately what drew me to PR.
I love being exposed to different industries because there is always something new to learn, and I enjoy understanding what makes each business unique. Most importantly, I find it rewarding to help businesses communicate their stories, solve challenges and see the impact that PR can have.
What’s something few people knew about you, but you wish they did?
I am the oldest of three daughters. I take pride in being the oldest sibling, and strive to be a role model for my younger sisters!
If you could give a piece of advice to your high school/younger self, what would it be?
Be yourself. Being comfortable with who you are builds confidence and helps you form genuine relationships with people who appreciate you for who you are. Surround yourself with people who support you, want to see you succeed and celebrate your accomplishments.
The right people will encourage you to grow while still allowing you to be yourself!
