At any given time, there are a handful of motivated college students and recent graduates in the D+P internship program. We recently connected with Elyse for a quick Q&A session. Read on below to learn more about Elyse!
Give us a little bit of background about yourself!
I am a senior at Temple University, studying advertising with a concentration in brand strategy and research. Advertising caught my attention my sophomore year of college when I had previously planned on studying criminal justice, but I wanted to major in something where I could express myself creatively.
Describe yourself in three words.
I would describe myself as being hard working, caring and adventurous. When given a task, I put all my effort forward. I’m always up for an adventure, whether it’s hiking at Valley Green or spontaneously going down the shore for the day.
What did you want to be when you were growing up?
When I was growing up, I wanted to become a veterinarian. I love helping people and animals, so I thought it’d be the perfect occupation. I even had a little vet costume that I constantly wore around the house!
What’s something few people knew about you, but you wish they did?
A fact that very few people know about me is that I hope to start my own business one day. I would love to create a business revolving around baked goods or ice cream.
If you could give a piece of advice to your high school/younger self, what would it be?
A piece of advice that I would give to my younger self is to pay close attention in school, because falling behind caused me stress. I would also tell her to be more confident in herself and her capabilities!
