At any given time, there are a handful of motivated college students and recent graduates in the D+P internship program. We recently connected with Emily Reimert for a quick Q&A session. Read on below to learn more about Emily!
Give us a little bit of background about yourself!
Hi! I’m a rising senior at Penn State University studying political science. Last summer, I had the opportunity to intern at the PA Attorney General’s office with the communications department, where I had the chance to develop my strong interest in media and public relations. At Penn State, I am a member of Alpha Omicron Pi and love to get involved with THON.
Describe yourself in three words.
If I had to describe myself in three words, I would say that I am caring, adaptive and hardworking.
What did you want to be when you were growing up?
When I was younger, I wanted to be a math teacher because I loved math so much in elementary and middle school.
What’s something few people knew about you, but you wish they did?
Something few people know about me is that I just recently returned home from a semester abroad in Florence, Italy. I spent four months studying in and exploring Florence as my home, as well as traveling around different parts of Europe. My favorite city that I visited was Nice, France because of its beautiful beaches.
If you could give a piece of advice to your high school/younger self, what would it be?
One piece of advice I would give to my high school self is to not stress too much about future plans because everything ends up working out the way it is meant to.
