We connected with our latest cohort of D+P interns for a quick Q&A session. Read on below to learn more about Ethan, our summer PR intern!
Give us a little bit of background about yourself!
Hi! My name is Ethan Childress, and I am an incoming senior at Temple University. I’m a journalism major and recently added a public relations minor. I’ve always had a strong passion for writing and telling stories, so it felt natural to journey into public relations and let my creativity shine practically and professionally. In my free time, I love listening to music (shoutout to Bob Dylan) and watching Phillies games!
Describe yourself in three words.
I would describe myself as creative, focused and compassionate.
What did you want to be when you were growing up?
It changed constantly throughout my childhood, but the earliest job I can remember wanting was a weatherman on the local news station. Joe Snedeker was the meteorologist on Newswatch 16, and I remember waking up early before school to watch his segments!
What’s something few people knew about you, but you wish they did?
I’ve dabbled in film photography. I got my first film camera as a senior in high school and fell in love with the medium. There’s something special about authentic film grain and the vintage nature of an older photographic medium.
If you could give a piece of advice to your high school/younger self, what would it be?
If I could tell my high school self anything, it would be to stop thinking about what could have been and focus on what is in front of you. Live in the moment and you’ll be better for it!
