We connected with our latest cohort of D+P interns for a quick Q&A session. Read on below to learn more about Shania, our spring PR intern!
Give us a little bit of background about yourself!
Hello! My name is Shania Walcott, and fun fact: I was named after country singer Shania Twain! I am a senior public relations major at Temple University, and I am excited to be interning at Devine + Partners this spring! I grew up as a military child and have lived all over the country, including Maryland, Kansas and Virginia. I believe those experiences led me to pursue a career in public relations.
Describe yourself in three words.
Loud, unpredictable and witty.
What did you want to be when you were growing up?
Growing up, I wanted to be a pop star and an actress, and I especially loved watching movie trailers rather than full movies. In a way, those dreams came into fruition because my life is always taking me on adventures, and I am very outgoing.
What’s something few people knew about you, but you wish they did?
I wish people knew that I am a big kid at heart! I like to play around a lot and am incapable of taking life too seriously.
If you could give a piece of advice to your high school/younger self, what would it be?
If I could travel back to 2018 and give Shania one piece of advice, I would tell her, “Just go with it.”
