Giving Back on #GivingTuesday

By Emma McClain

Tuesday, Nov. 30, marks the 2021 edition of #GivingTuesday, a worldwide day of philanthropy to support the organizations that are transforming their communities, and we’ve rounded up links to several D+P nonprofit clients doing exactly that. Slide on over from your Cyber Monday shopping to check out these organizations. Click. Donate. Make a difference. That’s the best kind of holiday shopping!

Associated Services for the Blind and Visually Impaired – Donations support education and training for anyone, anywhere, on the vision loss continuum to gain independence at home and in the community.

Conservation Center for Art & Historic Artifacts – Donate and assist CCAHA in increasing access to collections that are part of our shared heritage through preservation planning, education programs and grant writing assistance.

Cristo Rey Philadelphia High School – Help bridge the tuition gap between what families can afford to pay and what corporate partners contribute as part of Cristo Rey’s signature student work-study program.

Gaudenzia – Help rebuild lives and save generations by donating to Gaudenzia, a leader in treatment and recovery services, to assist people recovering from substance use disorder.

Historical Society of Pennsylvania – Contributing to HSP helps support its 21 million item collection and activities, including storage, conservation, library services and educational programs.

Mann Center for the Performing Arts – Check out the Mann’s shopping list to strengthen and grow community engagement and arts education.

Rails-to-Trails Conservancy – Participate in Rails-to-Trails Giving Tuesday Challenge to help connect trails nationwide, develop new pathways and ensure that more Americans can walk, bike or spend time outside on a local trail.

The Cooper Union – Empower Cooper students to do incredible work and give them the tools they need to graduate, succeed, and lift up the next generation. This year, alumnus George Reeves and his wife Ross Wisnewski are matching all donations up to $4 million.

The National Shrine of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton – Fund initiatives to ensure that future generations have the opportunity to know and love Mother Seton.

The Salvation Army Eastern Pennsylvania & Delaware Division –  Ensure that Hope Marches On for families in need this holiday season by donating to The Salvation Army’s Red Kettle campaign.

Woods Services – Support Woods’ mission of serving children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and give a gift today to support Animal Assisted Therapy at Woods.
