Holy cow, it’s 2016. Time to get realistic about my New Year’s resolution.
Like the rest of the world, I resolve to change something about my life for the better every January. Sometimes my resolutions stick [joining a CrossFit gym, sleeping more and cooking the majority of my meals], and sometimes they don’t [learning how to
pair my remote control to my TV, getting my cat to lose weight, socializing], but what I love about the New Year is the globally-shared hope that life can always improve. In fact, “Enjoy life to the fullest” was Time’s most popular resolution for 2016.
I think that anyone can stick to their resolution – personal or professional – if they follow some of these easy tricks we’ve curated for you from around the internet:
Publicize it
Announcing a goal publicly makes it easier to meet, because no one likes to bear the silent shame of their entire office knowing they’ve failed to avoid the candy vending machine. So, if you want to stick to a goal, tell people.
Inspire Those around You
At D+P, we pride ourselves on working as a team to get out-of-the-park results for our clients. But we apply that same camaraderie to other resolutions, like running the Broad Street Run or Philly Half Marathon together. Having a group of people working toward the same goal makes it easier to achieve your own!
