Sue Hamilton's head shot

Sue Hamilton joined Devine + Partners in 2005 and leads the firm’s Travel + Tourism division. She offers strategic communications planning and messaging, creative program development, national and international media relations, and promotions and event planning services to hospitality clients, including tourism destinations, museums and attractions, hotels and events.

She is assisting The Tun Legacy Foundation in promoting their efforts to reestablish the historic Tun, the birthday of the Marines and Pennsylvania Freemasons, in Philadelphia’s historic district. She supported the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia in amplifying the region’s role as a leading hub for cell and gene therapy; and helped the Parkway Museums District with the planning of its Centennial celebration. Among the many other organizations she has had the opportunity to work with are the Conservation Center for Art and Historic Artifacts, Kimpton Hotel Palomar Philadelphia, National Constitution Center, Philadelphia Convention & Visitors Bureau, Philadelphia Marathon, Philadelphia Zoo, Valley Forge Tourism and Convention Board, and Woods Services.

Her more than 35 years of tourism experience began at the Philadelphia Convention & Visitors Bureau, where she worked for 16 years, most recently as director of international marketing, part of the team responsible for promoting Philadelphia as a tourism destination in the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, The Netherlands and Ireland. At the Convention & Visitors Bureau she also served as director of marketing communications for Philadelphia 2000, the host committee for the 2000 Republican National Convention; chaired the Philadelphia Host City’s marketing communications committee for the ESPN X Games; and was instrumental in creating The Photo of the Century project, which, on July 4, 1999, gathered in Philadelphia more than 100 people born on the Fourth of July, one from each year from 1900-1999, and at least one from each state. The event drew international attention and earned a PR Week award for the best publicity stunt of the year.

Sue graduated with Honors from Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications with a degree in advertising. In 2001, she was named Outstanding Young Alumni. She serves on the Foundation Board of Magee Rehabilitation Hospital and co-chair of Magee’s Night of Champions fundraiser for patient programs including wheelchair sports and art and horticultural therapy. Like many on the D+P team, she loves running, and she has completed nine marathons.
